Austrian WWI Army Flare Pistol

These pistols are of a basic German Army Design as manufactured for Germany. When used by the Austrian Army they normally include the "AZF" stamp for acceptance into their logistics system at the field level (Artillerie-Zeugs-Fabrik).

These flare pistols were also manufactured by Steyr, and will bear the name Steyr stamped on them. The Steyr flare guns will not have the AZF, rather the normal Austrian Army acceptance proofs performed at Steyr or Wien by inspectors.
